Job description/overview
Ngarluma Aboriginal Corporation is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to support the organisation’s financial operations, governance and ongoing growth.
Ngarluma Aboriginal Corporation represents Traditional Owners in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, with responsibility for protecting Native Title rights, cultural heritage and supporting long-term economic development for its members.
This role will play an important part in strengthening financial management, supporting decision-making and ensuring the organisation continues to operate effectively and sustainably.
This role can be based in Perth with regular time spent in Karratha, or permanently based in Karratha. Flexibility will be considered for the right candidate.
The Role
Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the leadership team, the Finance Manager will oversee the day-to-day financial management of the organisation while supporting broader strategic and governance objectives.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys balancing operational finance responsibilities with commercial and strategic involvement across a complex and community-focused organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly management reports, Board reporting packs and financial analysis.
- Support annual audit processes and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations.
- Maintain and strengthen financial controls, systems and reporting processes.
- Assist with financial planning, budgeting and long-term forecasting.
- Support the CEO and leadership team with commercial analysis, funding management and financial decision making.
- Assist with financial oversight of agreements, projects and funding arrangements involving mining companies, government and external stakeholders.
- Manage accounts payable, receivable, payroll oversight and general finance administration functions.
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors and service providers.
- Support continuous improvement across finance systems, processes and reporting capability.
About You
You are a commercially minded finance professional who combines strong technical capability with sound judgement, professionalism and a collaborative approach.
You will ideally bring:
- Previous experience as a Finance Manager or senior finance professional.
- Strong financial management, reporting and compliance experience.
- Experience preparing budgets, forecasts and management reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and financial analysis capability.
- Ability to work closely with leadership teams and provide practical financial insights.
- Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills.
- A collaborative and hands-on working style.
- An understanding of, or willingness to learn, Indigenous governance and community-led organisations.
- CPA or CA qualifications preferred.
