Announcement

The Registrar has today released ORIC's performance report, ORIC: What have we achieved, November 2025 to share our latest achievements in supporting and regulating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander corporations.

Key highlights include:

  • myCorp portal & IT system release: ORIC added an online version of its form for directors to ask the Registrar to deny a request from members to call a general meeting.
  • Improved reporting support: A new Guide to Completing the General Report to help corporations lodge accurate and timely reports.
  • Data sharing: Introduced a policy to ensure responsible sharing of corporation data while respecting privacy and resource constraints; released a state of the sector report in October 2025
  • Examination reforms: Updated guidance and processes for examiners to focus more on solvency, financial viability, and providing constructive feedback to corporations.
  • Special administration review: ORIC chose not to implement standard terms of reference for special administrators to preserve their independence.
  • Investigation system upgrade: A new case management system was launched in July 2025.
  • Collaboration with ACNC: ORIC continues to strengthen ties with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission to better support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander corporations who are also registered as charities.

The November 2025 report is available alongside all our performance reports. We invite all stakeholders and corporations to review the report to gain insights into our performance.
