The CATSI Act emphasises the importance of reporting as a mechanism to improve transparency and accountability. Not only is access to corporation information important, that information needs to be timely so that members, communities, creditors and government agencies can use it to make decisions, and can be confident that the public Register of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporations is accurate and up-to-date.
Understanding your reporting obligations is important. See the Registrar's guidance on:
- lodging reports – what reports are required; who can lodge; how to apply for an exemption or extension of time.
- the contents and presentation of financial reports
- reporting compliance – consequences of failing to report; list of corporations in breach of their reporting obligations
