One of the latest initiatives is creating a Homeland studio model for remote communities so artists can produce works that merge old ways and new ways. The project is called InDigiMatha – the ‘Indigenous digital tongue’.
Artist Djambawa Maraili – who works with Goŋ Wanhurr – described the ‘Indigenous tongue’ as the land being complete.

The Registrar of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporations, Ms Tricia Stroud has placed the Yorta Yorta Nation Aboriginal Corporation (ICN 3279) under special administration.
On 3 November 2023 the Registrar issued a notice to the corporation to show cause why a special administrator should not be appointed. Issues cited in the notice included ongoing disputes between the corporation’s directors, and the affect on the corporation’s operations and staffing.
