Located in Roebourne, Northwest WA, Ngarliyarndu Bindirri Aboriginal Corporation (NBAC) is one of the oldest Aboriginal organisations with almost 50 years of service to the local people. We are an Aboriginal-owned and governed, non-profit corporation providing a range of innovative and culturally strong social impact services including employment pathways, a driving school, and local authority for Elders leadership.

Our commercial arm, Brida Pty Ltd, leads social enterprise service standards and has secured multi-year commercial contracts with the local industry partners.

Job description/overview: 

The general manager is responsible for:

  • delivering NBAC objectives with professionalism, determination and innovation
  • representing the interests of the NBAC membership
  • supporting the CEO and chairperson
  • implementing the strategic and operational plan
  • providing high quality administration and financial advice to the CEO, and by invitation to the NBAC board
  • exhibiting high levels of accountability and ethical behaviour that respects and promotes the long and proud history of NBAC
  • leading the NBAC team (with the CEO) and developing their careers and aspirations
  • administering the budget and appropriate monitoring and reporting procedures
  • communicating effectively with NBAC’s membership
  • overseeing delivery of all aspects of the corporation’s services in the community
  • establishing effective alliances and working arrangements with other Indigenous businesses
  • preparing and delivering reports to the NBAC board
  • ensure that board resolutions are implemented in a timely manner
  • representing, expanding and defending NBAC’s reputation
