Job description/overview: 

The psychologist / clinical psychologist will be required to work within the Social Health team to provide clinical advice and support to managers and other staff and work on an individual basis to provide high-level clinical consultations and therapeutic support to individuals and families to address mental health and wellbeing needs.

The Social Health Team provides multidisciplinary case management and support to Aboriginal people residing in the Shoalhaven Aboriginal communities as part of an integrated service response.

Working under the direction of the senior manager of Social Health services or delegate, thepsychologist / clinical psychologist will be required to;

  • provide psychological services and therapeutic support to individuals and groups, including to children, young people and families;
  • conduct psychological assessments for clients of the SCMSAC;
  • provide clinical advice to SCMSAC staff and managers about ethical and effective ways to address the mental health and wellbeing needs of clients; and
  • contribute to the design, development and evaluation of the SCMSAC’s mental health and psychological programs and services.
