Pika Wiya Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (PWHS) is an Aboriginal community-controlled health service which offers comprehensive primary health, social support and training services to Aboriginal people in Port Augusta, with clinics located in Port Augusta, Davenport, Copley and Nepabunna communities, and provides services to other areas within its catchment area. PWHS provides a culturally appropriate preventative and curative health service to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
The Board of PWHS comprises up to six member directors and three independent non-member specialist directors. The member directors are selected by members in a general meeting. The independent directors are selected by the member directors based on merit.
Type of vacancy:
PWHS is seeking expressions of interest from experienced and qualified individuals interested in being appointed as independent non- member directors for a period of up to two years. Ideally, candidates will have experience and qualifications in one of the following areas:
- delivery of health and related services; or
- finance, corporate governance, organisational development or similar areas.
Previous experience working with Indigenous organisations and boards will be looked on favourably. A commitment to high standards of integrity, ethics and corporate governance is essential.
Board meetings will be held at the head office of PWHS in Port Augusta.
