Ngaanyatjarra Council Aboriginal Corporation (NCAC) assists the Ngaanyatjarra communities to be strong and sustainable. It also provides reliable essential services, bookkeeping, agency and road transport, fuel distribution, health services, community services and housing. NCAC represents the interests of around 2,000 Ngaanyatjarra, Pintupi and Pitjantjatjara people living in 12 communities in the Central Desert region of Western Australia.

Communications and engagement officer is responsible for the creation and implementation of a communications and engagement strategy for Ngaanyatjarra Council (‘Council’) with the aim of increasing the level of knowledge and discussion among Ngaanyatjarra people of key issues confronting the Ngaanyatjarra region.
Based on community input, this will require the incumbent to create a range of communications products (e.g. newsletters, social media, web content, radio messaging) that brings about an improved flow of two-way information and ideas between Council, the communities and Ngaanyatjarra people.
The ability to develop and sustain positive relationships with Ngaanyatjarra people, the board of Council and the management team will be critical, along with effective planning. The incumbent will be required to regularly travel to the Ngaanyatjarra communities with a brief to share information, increase participation in council meetings and to identify the concerns of Ngaanyatjarra residents.
The incumbent will also be expected to create opportunities that allow young people to share information and discuss matters relating specifically to young people.
