Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi Foundation Ltd (NYFL) was established in 2000 as the trustee of a charitable trust formed to receive payments for land use on the Burrup Peninsular and donations relating to goodwill and mutually beneficial relationships.
Type of vacancy:
The board of NYFL comprises 10 members:
- Four Ngarluma and four Yindjibarndi directors who are elected by ballot of the NYFL members.
- One director appointed by the finance director; and
- One independent director (the role which is currently being advertised).
NYFL members comprise of the Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi people and the beneficiaries are extended to also include the wider Regional Aboriginal community. NYFL support and funding benefits members residing throughout Australia.
NYFL is seeking expressions of interest from experienced and committed individuals interested in being appointed as an independent director for a period of (three) years.
Ideally, candidates will have experience and qualifications in the area of finance, law, business development, corporate governance or similar areas. Previous experience working with Indigenous organisations and/or on boards will be looked upon favourably. A commitment to high standards of integrity, ethics and corporate governance is essential.
