The Three Rivers Regional Assembly (TRRA) has been selected to be part of the initial implementation of Local Decision Making (LDM). Local Decision Making is a key initiative under OCHRE: the NSW Government plan for Aboriginal affairs. The aims and objectives of LDM are outlined in the LDM Policy and Operational Framework. Aboriginal communities who are part of LDM will need to decide on the most suitable long-term regional representative structure to work with government through LDM. LDM Committees (Phase One) will initially have an advisory role in determining what government services are delivered to Aboriginal communities, and how they are delivered.

The chairperson is the key contact point for the Three Rivers Regional Assembly (TRRA). The position leads the TRRA in implementing their vision and working towards ensuring Aboriginal communities have a real and genuine voice in negotiations/consultations in determining what services are being developed and implemented through mutual respect and understanding.
