ORIC provides a range of training for Indigenous corporations about the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 (CATSI Act), the corporation's rule book and other aspects of good corporate governance.

Please note: ORIC does not pay travel allowance or sitting fees.
New corporations (doorway training)
ORIC is currently offering training sessions to Indigenous groups who want to register with ORIC. They usually cover:
- what becoming a corporation actually means
- the costs, benefits and legal responsibilities involved
- the key features of registration under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act
- how to develop a good corporation rule book.

Introduction to Corporate Governance workshops
This three-day interactive workshop introduces some basic principles and concepts of how to lead and run a healthy corporation. Some of the topics covered are:
- governance—what is it?
- meetings
- roles and responsibilities of members, directors and other officers
- conflict awareness and management.
Entry is by application and participants must sign a learning agreement with ORIC.

Certificate IV in Business (Governance)
This is a nationally recognised training package developed specifically for Indigenous people who wish to attain recognised skills in corporate governance and management. The certificate course covers 13 units of competency in four one-week blocks (Monday to Friday) over a period of several months.
To be eligible to start this course you must have completed an Introduction to Corporate Governance workshop, and have year 10 education or ability to demonstrate equivalent literacy and numeracy skills.

Diploma of Business (Governance) workshops
The diploma is a nationally recognised training package for Indigenous
people to further develop their governance skills. There are 13 units of
competency.
This course is held over five one-week blocks (Monday to Friday) over a
period of 6–12 months.
To be eligible to start this course you must have completed the
Certificate IV in Business (Governance), and have year 12 education or
ability to demonstrate equivalent literacy, numeracy and analytical skills.
